The City of Goodyear is a suburban community located about 20 miles southwest of Phoenix. It was founded in 1916 by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co for the farming of cotton. Later, a naval air station was established in town and Goodyear Aircraft was established to manufacture flight decks for Navy seaplanes.
